Having learnt the piano and saxophone from an early age, I studied Music and Drama at the University of Manchester in 2014, specialising in jazz piano. My four years in Manchester provided a wealth of valuable experience playing with other like-minded musicians; I performed in a variety of trios, quartets and small ensembles, as well as founding the original line-up of the Manchester-based big band NQBB.
Leading jazz ensembles sparked an interest in composition, arrangement and orchestration – skills which I have developed in the subsequent years, writing and arranging for a variety of different line-ups.
As a performer, I have worked in many different settings, from intimate pub gigs and jam sessions to full-scale theatre shows, festivals, tours and TV shows, as well as two years spent playing with the Third Avenue West trio on board Holland America cruise ships.
“We wanted to say that the band was a highlight of our cruise.”
Feedback from Holland America cruise guests
“Extremely talented and no vocals plus they were willing to take requests!”
“A delightful blend of youth and experience with wonderful musical scores.”
