Tuition

Throughout my musical career, I have been extremely lucky to have had a series of excellent teachers on a variety of instruments (some of which I sadly don’t play any more, or was never any good at in the first place!)

Thanks to my experience of learning music with these teachers, I am always keen to pass that passion and knowledge on to a new generation of learners. I offer private tuition on piano and saxophones, as well as lessons in music theory and improvisation (jazz and improvisation lessons would be suitable for capable players of any instrument, although I may use the piano to demonstrate certain ideas).

I usually travel to students so they can learn from the comfort of their own homes, and am happy to take on new students of any age and ability, as long as they are willing to put in the work needed to make playing music enjoyable!

Lesson fees

I realise that music is not always the cheapest hobby, and I aim to keep my lesson fees at a reasonable level. Fees are generally revised prior to the start of the academic year in September. As of September 2025, I charge the following rates for lessons:

30 minutes – £22
45 minutes – £30
1 hour – £39
2 hours – £72

(Plus travel expenses if applicable)

Variations on these fees – for example for longer or shorter lesson times, group lessons or workshops – can be arranged on a case-by-case basis.

Testimonials

“Conor is a superb teacher; he is extremely patient, supportive and encouraging. My daughter has always struggled with her learning due to her hearing difficulties, but Conor has made her feel comfortable and learn at her own pace; he has really helped her gain confidence and passion in music.”

Suan, Dartford

“My 8 year old loved learning to play the piano with Conor. He was excited about each lesson, made progress quickly, and really enjoyed himself. Conor is a very patient tutor that adapts his teaching approach to what the children are interested in and to how they learn best.”
